This was a bit of a shock to the system I recently got from Paypal…
We recently noticed an issue with your account. For information on what you can and can’t do while your account is limited, go to the Resolution Centre.
Why is my account access limited?
Your account access has been limited for the following reason(s):
- 26 Mar 2012: We identified activity on your PayPal account that violates the terms of our User Agreement. As a result, you’ll no longer be able to use your account. As stated in our User Agreement, we may hold the funds in your account for up to 180 days in case any actions, like chargebacks or buyer complaints, are filed against you. If you still have an account balance after 180 days, we’ll email you to let you know how to receive your funds.
If you want to request refunds for your buyers, you can email email@example.com with the date, amount and buyer’s name for each transaction. We’ll review your refund requests on a case-by-case basis, but we can’t guarantee that a refund will be granted.
(Your case ID for this reason is PP-aaa-bbb-ccc-ddd.)
This limitation cannot be appealed against.
After ringing Paypal they assured me that this sort of thing happens quite a lot and their department would look into the matter and everything would be okay within 3 days (it was).
But that was before I went through all my websites changing the Paypal to another account so I could take payments.
And now that everything is okay again I now have to change everything back the way it was.
Hours and hours of work….yet I have no explanation from Paypal of what the problem was…I have nothing from them!
This is totally incredible and therefore I have no option now but to look for another merchant provider – I simply cannot be put in this position again and nor can anyone else – this is simply no way to run a business.
