Well some crazy looking results – a couple of 5-0!
Arsenal 0 – Sunderland 0
A typical dour performance from Sunderland. Arsenal looked pretty good and were unlucky not to score – probably would of if Van Persie had played.
Fulham 5 – Norwich 0
Woeful defending from Norwich – there back line was shocking.
Fulham took full advantage and on their day can take any team apart.
QPR 0 Swansea 5
QPR were okay in this get until they went two goals behind then they just gave up. Swansea took their chances well – they even hit the bar twice as well – so I guess it could of been 7! I don’t think QPR will get hammered again for a while – not against a mid-table team anyway. Overall they actually had more shots on target and off target than Swansea.
Reading 1 Stoke 1
Probably a fair result for both teams and I think both teams will be happy with a point.
West Brom 3 Liverpool 0
Suarez had a lot of chances and should of taken at least one of them – so it seems he has the same problems as last year in not being able to take his chances, if this keeps up then Liverpool will struggle again. West Brom looked okay although this game could easily have finished a draw if Lverpool had defended like they did last year and finished better.
West Ham 1 Aston Villa 0
Aston Villa could be struggling this year – they didn’t create a lot and could easily have lost by a couple more goals. West Ham were well worth there win.
Newcastle 2 Tottenham 1
Tottenham had some good early chances and they hit the woodwork a couple of times in this match as well so I think overall they were a little unlucky to lose the match. I think it’s clear Alan Pardew is a bit of a luck manager. Newcastle also played some good stuff especially in the second half.
So Fulham and Swanswea are top of the league on day 1 with some of the big boys still to play.
A note on the referees who did really well today – I don’t think they got a lot wrong today, nothing major anyway or anything that affected the game obtusely.
